A member of National Council of Professors Malaysia. PROF. DR. MOHAMAD ROM is a PhD holder in Electrical Engineering from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England since 1992. He began his professional career with University Malaya since then and continued to serve the same institution in various capacities and appointments until 2010. Amongst the appointments in Management positions held by him in the University of Malaya were: - Appointed as the Head of Electrical Engineering Department, University of Malaya, 1992. - Appointed as a member of the Senate of University of Malaya, 1992. - Appointed Associate Professor UM in 1996 - Appointed Professor UM in 2003 - Appointed Dean Faculty of Engineering and a Senate member of UM in 2004 Prof. Dr. Rom has been recognized at both national and international levels. He had served as a Consultant For Malaysian Energy Centre (PTM) and a Resource Person for Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia, a Consultant In The Energy Field, Project Assessment Committee, Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Malaysia and Consultant For Government Hospitals upgrading & other Mega Mega projects such as KLIA. He was a Senior Assessor for LAN Accreditation Panel, Ministry of Education in 1998, for a number of years, Senior Consulting Advisor for Energy Efficiency in UM since 1999 and Instrumentation Panel of Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Malaysia in 1998.All these appointments led him to be awarded Fellow of Motor Industry by The Institute of Motor Industry, United Kingdom (IMI, UK) His vast electrical engineering background and experiences, coupled with strong ties with the local e-vehicles manufacturer led him to be actively involved with environmental friendly and energy serving alternative means of transport. He has been appointed as Advisory Consultant to Mesia (M) SDN BHD since the inception of the company till to date. Since then he has been actively involved with the company in specific areas involving energy an drive system and has been instrumental to its success especially for products that are not readily available in the market. Born and brought up in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia S.Choudhury had his early education in Bahau and completed his MSc, Bsc (Pharmacology) and Master of Philosophy at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India in 1982. Started his career with a German multinational in the Medical field. After almost 19 years with this company in various Regional Senior positions, he decided to call it quits and established his own medical devices manufacturing company (2002), Vigilenz Medical Devices Sdn Bhd. Vigilenz achieved its ISO 13485:2003 and CE Mark Class ll medical devices in the year 2004. In the year 2006, the company accomplished the highest Class lll CE Mark for exports to the European Union and the first Malaysian company with a Class lll accreditation audited by TUV Germany. In 2006, he was the founder and Pro-term President of the Malaysian Medical Devices Association [MMDA] and he is also currently a member of the Association of Malaysian Medical Industries. S.Choudhury is also the recipient of two state awards, the PJK (2002) and the PKT (2006) by the most Honorable Governor of Penang. Appointed as the Advisory Panel of (Invest Penang), a state government investment arm by the Chief Minister of Penang and holds this position from year 2006 till present. He was featured in the September 2013 issue of the worldwide US publication Site Selection inviting investors into Malaysia as a possible manufacturing base. He was appointed by the Minister in the Prime Ministers Department, the Honorable Datuk Seri Idris Jala, as the Lab leader for the Medical Devices Lab under NKEA Healthcare (2011). He was subsequently endorsed by both Datuk Seri Idris Jala and the then Minister of Health as a sitting member of the national steering committee for NKEA Healthcare [medical devices] from year 2012 till present. Vigilenz had been announced as an Entry Point Project [EPP] company by the Honorable Prime Minister under the Economic Transformation Programme (2012). He was appointed by MIDA as a member of the Medical Devices Investment Advisory Panel (MDIAP) in line with the 11th Malaysia Plan (2016). He is the member of the Medical Technology Flagship Research Committee, under SIRIM Berhad. At its new facility in Penang Science Park, Vigilenz now ventures into orthopedics implants which will be coated with bacteriostatic material and launched globally as a first of its kind. The company currently has R & D projects in wound management & infection control products.
Dr. Rahmat Shazi, completed his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and obtained PhD in Business Strategy : Innovation Management from University of Queensland. Formerly he was Head of Technical Training and Mentorship at Strand Aerospace Malaysia and Lecturer
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and also a member of UTP's Innovation Committee. His research focus is on the networks that drives and supports various stages of the innovation process, from Problem Identification, Idea Generation, Idea Championing to Idea Implementation. He served as Tutor for MGTS1601 in UQ Business School, Brisbane, Australia.
Naresh Kumar, PhD, is a Professor and Head of Research and Industry Linkages at Global Entrepreneurship Research and Innovation Centre, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. Prior to joining UMK, he was the Head of Programme (MBA and MMIT) at the Graduate School of Management (AACSB Accredited), Universiti Putra Malaysia. He teaches strategic entrepreneurship, human resource management, organizational behavior, and research methods at postgraduate and undergraduate levels. His primary area of expertise is human resource development, and his research interest includes entrepreneurship, workplace learning, and organizational innovation and change. He has published over 100 journal articles, conference proceedings, and seminar papers on organizational and management-related studies. Naresh Kumar has supervised to successful completion of many Doctoral students in the capacity of chairman and supervisory committee member. His professional affiliations include the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester (Research Fellow), Malaysian Institute of Management, Academy of Human Resource Development (USA), Academy of Management (USA), Fellow of National Institute of Human Resource Management, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia and Member of Professors Council of Malaysia, Prime Minister’s Office. In addition, Naresh Kumar has been appointed as Adjunct Professor, Visiting Professor and Academic Advisor by few other Institutions of Higher Learning. His passion in organization innovation and change has made him to involve in consultancy work with both government and private agency. He has conducted numerous skill-based training programs that have been benefited by many professionals from both private and public sectors in Malaysia and abroad. Naresh Kumar believes that being an educator is the best way to get involved in helping others to reach their fullest potential that geared towards high order of civilized society. Thus, his everlasting passion for research, teaching, training, consulting, coaching and learning as well as knowledge sharing make him feel comfortable and enthusiastic to continue his journey in academia. Naresh Kumar have received several awards and in the year 2017 he was awarded The ASIA HRD Awards (contribution to HR Community), Outstanding Faculty in Organizational Development Award - 3rd Contemporary Academic Meet (Venus International Foundation) and Global Excellence Service Award (excellence in Educational Services) by the Malaysian United Integration Organization in Collaboration with Prime Ministers Department Malaysia.
Dr.S.Yavana Rani is Associate Professor of Statistics and Quantitative Techniques. Since receiving her MBA and Ph.D from Management, Prof Yavana Rani has devoted her career to Research and Teaching. She also has a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. She has 14 years of teaching experience. Dr. Rani has received Young Scientist Fellowship Award from Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology(TNSCST), India. She has completed her fellowship from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She is the life time member in Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
Dr.Yavana Rani has completed a research project sponsored by Indian Council for Social Science and Research (ICSSR). She has published many research articles in Scopus indexed and Springer journals. She has presented papers in National and International conferences in India and abroad. She is the editor for many reputed journals.
Prof. Rani holds many administrative roles such as Dean Student Affairs, Director Coordination for various activities. She has been project Director for Entrepreneurship Cell (EDC) sponsored by Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. Professor has got funding for conducting conferences, International visit from various funding agencies like DST and ICSSR, India.
